SCBOA Mike Kuchera Award:
Chosen by a committee of SCBOA officials including the Mike Kuchera Award winner from the previous year. In recognition of exceptional committment off the court and outstanding dedication on the court for the betterment of SCBOA.

  • Mike Kuchera was an outstanding SCBOA official for over 20 years and he refereed many state and district games. He also served as SCBOA President and Board Member.  In addition to being a well-respected official, Mike was an outstanding citizen and successful business owner.  In 1973, he was one of the first recipients of the WIAA/WOA Meritorious Service Award.

SCBOA School of the Year Award:
Nominated by SCBOA officials during the season and voted on by SCBOA officials at the end of the season. Awarded to the host school which provides the best support and hospitality to SCBOA officials.
SCBOA Coach of the Year Award:
Nominated by SCBOA officials during the season and voted on by SCBOA officials at the end of the season. Awarded to the coach who demonstrates great sportsmanship, fair play and leadership of their team.
Dennis Myers Player of the Year Award:
Nominated by SCBOA officials during the season and voted on by SCBOA officials at the end of the season. Awarded to the player who demonstrates great skill and hustle as well as great sportsmanship and courtesy to officials.
SCBOA Assignor's Award:
Awarded by the SCBOA assignor to the officials who go "above and beyond the call of duty" to help the assignor ensure that all games have referees.
SCBOA Inspiring Official:
Nominated by the SCBOA board or banquet committee. Awarded to the SCBOA official who inspires others due to their work ethic, commitment to excellence, encouragement and great attitude both on and off the floor.
SCBOA Lifetime Achievement Award:
Nominated by the SCBOA board to a retired official who has given many years of excellent service to SCBOA both on and off the floor.
